LITTLE PUZZLE ART,  PROJECT FOR SMALL CHILDREN

How to create moving paper figures?

Even during the summer, with plenty of outdoor activities with the kids, rainy days happen, and even if it’s just one or two days, my kids can still manage at home. They pull out all the toys they can, and every room in our apartment looks like a playground.

However, when it rains for a week, we open up our creative corner and create a new project: “Moving tissue people”.

As always, you don’t have to worry about purchasing materials for our work. We’re using everything you can find at home in this DIY project: toilet paper, tissues, or kitchen paper, as well as tape, a marker, a balloon, and scissors, which you probably already have at home.

When I create DIY projects with my kids, I show them how many cool things can be made from materials we have at home, such as straws, corks, rice, toilet paper rolls, etc., without incurring any costs.

What little puzzles will be created today?

MOVING TISSUE PEOPLE

What do my little puzzles don’t need?

DISTURBING PARENTS

For this project, I drew them a character sketch, which Patrick then traced onto tissue. He completed the rest of the design himself.

What do my little puzzles need?

  • full stomach
  • drink near them
  • smile
  • patience – only because they create together
  • good energy

And everything from the list below:

☆markers

☆toilet paper, napkins, tissue or kitchen roll

☆ balloons

☆scissors

☆ adhesive tape

☆coloured paper or construction paper

☆anything that will help your child make the DIY FLYING PEOPLE unique

What will we use for an unplanned mess?

  • wet wipes
Let’s start the process of creating MOVING TISSUE PEOPLE together:

1. Prepare materials for creation.

2. Use the sketch that Mom or Dad drew and trace people’s figures onto the napkins.

TIP:

The paper must be really thin, so it’s best to divide one tissue into layers

3. Cut out shapes of people from the tissue paper.

4. Prepare colored construction paper and glue (using tape) the legs of the figures to it.

5. Use balloons to make TISSUE PEOPLE FLY. (saw video below)

TIPS:

Use any material that is suitable for generating synthetic energy. In our project, we used balloons that are very good at electrifying.

6. It’s time to start playing with moving tissue people.
