HOW TO MAKE SANTA’S VISIT IMPROVE FOR YOUR CHILDREN?

“May you never be too grown up to search the skies on Christmas Eve”

Recently, in the last post: “How to make Christmas stress-free for children?” I wrote that Christmas can be an experience of mixed bad emotions for many people and children. In my house, there were many silly situations over the Christmas period, where my children were anxious and stressed. https://littlepuzzlesandme.com/how-to-make-christmas-stress-free-for-children/

And what about the pleasant moments that must reign at Christmas? They exist, right?

The answer is YES. There is no shortage of pleasant moments for children and parents during Christmas time. After all, these are important moments when Santa comes, when presents appear, and above all, when we spend wonderful moments with children. The following ideas reduce holiday stress to zero, and the satisfaction cannot be quantified because it is abnormally great. Trust me!

Six simple but significant ideas to spice up Santa’s visit:

1. LETTER TO SANTA CLAUS

Every year you have to write a letter to Santa Claus. My children are too small to write, so we use a newspaper with pictures of toys and cut out the toys that the children love. Before Christmas, we have a lot of advertisements for various shops in our mailbox.

We cut pictures of toys and glued them on paper.  Ten pictures on one A4 page were enough. This year, my 5-year-old son was dominated by – 4-picture guns, 2-picture swords, Ninjago figurines, and Marvel accessories – markers, coloring books, etc.

For 2-year-old Dorothy, the choice was wider, from lego Duplo, puzzles, through dolls, teddy bears, plush dogs, and cats, to coloring books and crayons.

2. FOOTPRINTS OF SANTA CLAUS

Prepare Santa’s footprints by leaving a letter to Santa Claus. I highly, recommend this idea. Use spray snow, flour, or, like us lucky fellas, real snow. A big footprint is best so daddy boots work well. Children go crazy with delight when footprints appear on our balcony and letters disappear. If you have a fireplace, you must leave traces by the fireplace, because after all, Santa enters the apartment through the chimney. You will save the mess in your flat when you print and cut out a trace of paper – small children will be delighted anyway.

3. GINGERBREAD MAN AND MILK FOR SANTA CLAUS

We leave a gingerbread man and milk for Santa when he receives the letter. Before the kids get up in the morning, I suggest you eat a piece of cake and drink some milk for Santa. For me, consumption for Santa takes place in the evening, when the children are sleeping, because in the morning who likes cold milk and a cookie? Maybe there will be brave parents who will eat cake at 6 am, I admire.

4. LETTER FROM SANTA CLAUS

In the morning, in addition to wonderful surprises: Santa’s footprint, a bitten cookie, and drunk milk, children will also receive a return letter from Santa. It is very important to write a letter with a note like this:

“Santa received a letter and thanks for the wonderful snacks. Now Santa will watch all the children very carefully to see if they deserve the toys that Santa is supposed to deliver. Also, Santa kindly asks you to prepare carrots for the reindeer and candy canes for the elves. On Christmas night, Santa is very busy, and the reindeer and elves are hungry and everyone forgets about them”.

5. JINGLE BELLS

We are from Poland, and we live in the Czech Republic, but the children were born in England, which is why we use Christmas tactics from these three countries. https://littlepuzzlesandme.com/my-attempts-to-survive-new-christmas-traditions/

Santa Claus in England works all Christmas night (24.12) and distributes gifts. In the morning on Christmas day (25.12), the children will find all the toys they dreamed of under the Christmas tree.

In Poland and the Czech Republic, it is done on the evening of the 24th, after Christmas Eve dinner. Grandparents do not give up this tradition and this year they will also bring gifts after the Christmas Eve dinner. Last year we agreed to gifts that only included toys that didn’t make sounds. Musical and loud toys are prohibited. Preferably books, puzzles, Legos, stuffed animals, etc. All those toys that soothe my children. After this kind of evening activity, they go to bed without conflict.

However, grandparents can’t just drop presents, they have to come up with a Santa Claus story. They will tell my children that they met Santa Claus on the way and helped him deliver his first presents. In our family, it works great to use the sound of the Christmas jingle bell (you will find it on your phone) before the grandparents arrive. These sounds will make the children aware that Santa is somewhere nearby. My children start running from window to window and searching the sky for Santa’s sleight. And of course, a couple of minutes later grandparents will appear.

6. CARROTS AND CANDY CANES

As it was written in the return letter from Santa, on the pre-Christmas evening, children leave carrots for reindeer and candy canes for elves. Most often they have a lot of sweets as evening gifts from grandparents. After all, children go to sleep, and we repeat the mission of leaving traces of Santa. Also, this time we leave carrots for a hungry Dusher or a Dancer and candy canes for the elves.

SUMMARY OF THE MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS

During Christmas time, and not only, the most important thing is to help children by developing their wonderful immaculate imagination. For them, at this age, there are elves, fairies, also monsters hidden under the bed.

Christmas is the most beautiful time for the family and a magical time for children. Let’s try to find as much time as possible for your children. Your little ones won’t remember if the windows were washed or how many dishes were on the table. https://littlepuzzlesandme.com/let-the-magic-of-christmas-sparkle-into-my-house/

In children’s memories will surely remain the time with you, decorating the Christmas tree together, and baking gingerbread man together. All kinds of pleasant and joyful experiences, which at the same time stimulate their creativity, imagination, and dreams, will be in their memories forever.

Dear parents, BE GOOD to your children because Santa is watching you too. 🎅🎁
