MOMMY AND DARK MAGIC
“YOU NEVER REALIZE WHAT YOUR MAGICAL POWERS ARE UNTIL YOU HAVE CHILDREN”
I am a huge fan of fairy tales, I was before my children were born. The best one with a moral ending and with the significant sentence “they lived happily ever after”.
What is the reason?
Probably that my day in childhood ended with one bedtime story on tv, and that’s it, night, night.
After my childhood experiences, I’m catching up by watching cartoons with children. And above all due to the fantastic quality of current fairy tales, the emotions that accompany me while watching them, are certainly greater than the emotions of my child. https://littlepuzzlesandme.com/my-new-face/
Which are my son’s favorite fairy tales?
I think we broke a new record with my older son viewing “RIO”.
We watched “RIO” mainly for the music that inspired him to dance. You can imagine a little child (who was around two years) dancing to Rihanna’s song “Take me to the Rio”. So far, I have videos of his dance: wobble movements, twists, and butt shaking. I still laugh after all these years.
It is quite the opposite with my daughter and it has always been like that. Music and dance moves do not interest her. In the morning, my sweetheart enjoys peace and plays with her favourite puppy toy.
Which are my daughter’s favorite fairy tales?
When my little one turned two, saw a fairy tale called “The secret life of Pets.”
She watched and laughed again and again at the same scenes. Also, we fell in love with the bunny and want to have him at home now.
Watching fairy tales over and over is not so bad, and for me, it’s even fun, but try to find the right fairy tales without knowing the title. This is a mission for “Mommy with dark magic.”
Happens most often when my children have heard from friends or seen trials of fairy tales, and I have not. And this is where my magic begins.
The sample of conversation looks that:
“Mom, do you remember a fairy tale where a princess beats a man in a frying pan?”
“No, I don’t.”
“But Mom, you have to remember, she has a funny frog.”
“The Princess and the Frog!”
And with relief, I turn on a fairy tale, and after 2 seconds, I hear a scream:
“Mom, you chose the wrong story. “
It is starting to get dangerous; my baby is already on the first level of upset.
“Calm down, tell me more then.”
“The Princess has a funny horse too”
“Brave”? The girl which ginger hair?
The second level of upset became.
“No! She has blond hair long, and shining when she is singing:
Flower, gleam, and glow
Let your power shine.
“Rapunzel!!”
“Yes Mom, exactly this Princess.“
And what was I talking about, I’m a wizard, right?
One day, when Daddy stayed with kids, it also began:
“I want to watch a fairy tale about a dog.”
My husband was so sure is “The secret life of Pets”, that he just turned it on, but was the wrong decision.
“Not this one!”
She started the drama.
“Honey, your daughter wants to watch the dog story and is not PETS.
“Maybe Paw Patrol?”
“NOOOO!”
The second level of her upset appears.
“Is a dog with a superpower, who lost his friend, but he found her and saved her from the fire.”
“Fireman Sam!
“NO, DAD!“
“The dog has a black badge on his back, and there is a bad man and a bad cat with green eyes”.
Please tell me how my children remember so many details but not the title.
I will briefly end this sad story.
My husband was unlucky, her tips didn’t help me, and my wizard power didn’t work this time. The last level of my daughter’s upset will leave in my husband’s memory for a long time.
We all forgot about the pet’s drama until evening came and the older son asked:
“Mom, can we watch BOLT again? I like the story and Dorothy too.“
“BOLT?”
“Yes, Mom, this dog with a superpower and lightning on his back.”
Well done, my son, well done.
