MAKE A MISTAKE, LEARN, FIX IT
“MISTAKES ARE PROOF THAT YOU ARE TRYING”
First, everyone makes big or small mistakes with dramatic or positive results. Looking at my mistakes in the past, I can say that I like my mistake, I like the way I learn from my mistake, and I like the progress that I have made through my mistakes. You know, life without mistakes would be easier and complete tasks faster, but we are only human and we learn throughout our lives.
Due to the little and silly mistakes I made in the last 6 months, I lost much more time than I should have and worked more than I should have.
MY WORK ON THE BLOG
Each of my posts has its own specific structure, paragraphs, bolds, sentences, subtitles, headings, font, etc. It is best to include them in specific constructions that repeat over the next posts. It sounds simple, I write it myself, so I know what style I want to be characterized by in my posts, but it’s not as easy as it sounds.
With the first 6 posts, I made the same mistakes every time:
- used different headings than in the previous ones,
- bold inscriptions that I haven’t used before,
- different font styles – the worst one.
I didn’t do it on purpose. I forgot if the quotes in the previous post were in bold or not. Or maybe the questions were written in italics? Were the headers in the h4 or h5 range?
Plenty of times I opened previous posts and compared, changed, and saved them again. And it was enough to take a piece of paper and create a short note of all the most important styles, structures, and positions that I use in my posts. And so I did. I wish I had fought for a long time and believed in my brain that it should remember everything without writing it down. Silly right?
ADDING POSTS ON INSTAGRAM
Why I made mistakes with adding posts on Instagram? Because of course, I was sticking to the claim that I could do it on my own. After time and tedious work, I discovered that there are so many free Instagram training, such as adding posts, rolls, stories, live videos, etc. There is also a large group of people who already know all the news on Instagram and help newbies without any problems.
In my example, as always, I found out about everything too late and after many mistakes. The way of a professional profile on Instagram will guide you through training and help from others. I just have it coded in my personality – I’ll do everything myself – as my small daughter says now: I want to do it alone, leave me alone.
UNFRIENDLY PRINTER
Technology is my enemy in general. When I rush to add a post my internet slows down or loses reach. My file in a Word document was not saved to the desktop as always but in an unknown location. And the printer, someone changed the settings – my husband of course, and the dedications for my book, which I use to print in A4 format were printed in the format of 6 small sheets. Impossible to read.
I repeat to myself many times:
Check the printer settings when you will print more paper.
Print one sheet for checking.
Again with a minor printer mistake, I did twice as much work and I lost plenty of my valuable time. Congratulations to me for my stupidity.
But as I wrote at the beginning, I keep making mistakes. Fortunately, the small ones don’t threaten my life, only my business. I am still learning from my mistakes. What I like about myself is that I find a way out of these situations. I follow four simple rules:
- start to write down important information – the most obvious rule,
- check everything twice or more,
- go through training expanding my knowledge,
- learned not to be afraid to ask for help – the most important rule for me.
