How do children make a chocolate-free Santa countdown calendar?
“Christmas doesn’t come from the store. Christmas is family and a lot more time together”.
There are signs of approaching winter in my village. Drivers struggle with frosted car windows, it gets slippery underfoot, and excited children look out for the first snow every day.
My little puzzles slowly change autumn DIY projects into winter ones. And since winter is associated with the celebration of Christmas, we will start with a very simple, cheap but very meaningful craft which is The Advent Calendar.
Being a parent myself, I know what the stories of having an advent calendar with sweets look like. My kids wanted chocolate every morning because a new day means a new chocolate window, and I had to hide the calendar from my two-year-old daughter because she opened as many windows as she wanted. So with our DIY advent calendar, you’ll have less stress and more fun.
What little puzzles will be created today?

DISTURBING PARENTS
I prepared the pattern for them the day before and then my kids added the details themselves. I leave my little puzzles to create and be active by themselves.

Let’s start the process of creating the Santa Countdown Advent Calendar:
1. Sketch Santa’s face on one A4 white paper.
2. Sketch Santa’s red hat on A4 red paper.
3. Sketch Santa’s long beard on A4 white paper.
TIPS:
There are plenty of sample sketches of Santa Claus on the Internet.
4. Cut out all the drawn shapes one by one.
5. Glue all the cut shapes together.
6. From colored paper, cut out more details such as eyes, nose, and mouth.
TIPS:
For young children, it is enough to draw the details with markers.
7. Draw the numbers 1-24 on Santa’s beard or stick number stickers on it.
8. In places where there are sketches of the eyes, mouth and nose, glue all the cut-out details.
9. Create your unique Santa in your style, colors, and visions.
10. Check out our photos that will help your child create.
