LITTLE PUZZLE ART,  PROJECT FOR SMALL CHILDREN

How do children make a racing car from toilet paper rolls?

“ALMOST ALL CREATIVITY REQUIRES PURPOSEFUL PLAY”

Abraham Lincoln

My children have thousands of toys. It is not because we are rich and we buy new, famous toys. It happened because our parents became grandparents and for them, shopping is: Let’s buy the grandchildren what they want, what they like, or just buy toys for no reason.

And I am very grateful for that, but my children play with everything that is not in the playroom. Or like my son is never bored of one toy, his favorite – a racing car. At home or in the playground he’s a fan of racing cars.

One day he came to me with a destroyed car in his hand. That was the day when we found an idea for a racing car made of toilet paper rolls. Of course, this racing car will also destroy quickly but this gives my son a reason to constantly create new ones, and create cars with more detail. He has fun and he plays with his paper toy car longer than with a plastic toy car.

What little puzzles will be created today?

What my little puzzles don’t need?

DISTURBING PARENTS

Help them only when they ask you. My son was fine until he had problems with sticking the car wheels, but please read the tips. It helped him a lot. I have to admit that with “little puzzles art” we use acrylic paints so it is much messier than when using colored paper.

What do my little puzzles need?

  • full stomach
  • drink near to them
  • smile
  • good energy

And everything on the list below:

☆tables cover

☆toilet rolls

☆play dough cup (for shape wheels)

☆wine cork (to shape small circles)

☆acrylic paints, markers, crayons, and everything you have at home that best suits your child

☆scissors

☆glue

☆wood or plastic sticks for applying glue

☆various colours of foam paper or construction paper

☆letter stickers or numbers stickers

☆anything that will help your child to better decorate the racing car.

What will we use for an unplanned mess?

☆ wet wipes

☆ toilet paper

Let me show you how easy the process of creating a racing car is:

1. Paint the toilet roll in your favourite colour.

TIPS:

*Use a small amount of water, because the roll becomes softer.

2. Cut four circles out of the Playdough cup shape. They don’t have to be perfect wheels. Children

create, not you.

3. Cut four small circles out of the wine cork shape.

More details such as car lights or the stripes can be colored or use foam paper.

4. Glue the four wheels on your racing car.

TIPS:

*Use laundry clips to hold the wheel better.

5. Glue four small circles onto the four big wheels.

6. Use number stickers or letter stickers to create your favorite racing car in your unique style.

7. Check out our photos that will help your child with creation.
