MARVELOUS BATH TIME FOR MY CHILDREN
PART TWO – BATH TIME
“LEAVE YOUR TROUBLES IN THE BUBBLES”
Bath time. For most women a wonderful time, relaxing, with the scent of fragrant oils or candles. I’m a fanatic of such delight.
I was always surprised who could have given up bathing in favor of a shower. And now I literally run into the shower, full of joy, because even when children come, that is 95% of the time, they don’t jump to me like they did when I was in the bathtub.
The story will be about a bath, but not mine. Sad, but my own time for bathing does not exist when the children appeared. https://littlepuzzlesandme.com/how-to-upset-your-own-child/
Let’s start the fun with describe my children’s bath time:
THE CONFLICT-FREE VERSION – NAMED PATRICK
Patrick loved bathing from the very beginning. May have fallen asleep while washing his hair. When he was old enough to bathe himself, he spent time in the bath to invent various water games. Bath time for him is: playing with bubbles or water toys.
We checked Patrick from time to time and he has always been in his favourite bathing world. After the bath, our son was calm and relaxed. He fell asleep in the blink of an eye. A few years have passed since then, nothing has changed for Patrick.
A FEMALE VERSION OF TORNADO – NAMED DOROTHY
Dorothy was not interested in bathing from the very beginning. My daughter’s time in the bathtub with hair washing is a maximum of 10 minutes. She wasn’t relaxed at all. Splashing us, herself, and the whole bathroom. It was more like fighting with a baby than washing a baby. The bathroom was mostly flooded and I ended up with wet clothes and sometimes wet hair. Two years have passed since then and the situation has turned for the worse.
Dorothy has learned that bath time is for over 10 minutes, but after 10 minutes she starts the same silly habit. She is getting better at splashing water at a distance. She also pours shampoo or soap in the bathtub or worse, on the floor, depending on how long she’s been alone.
The most obvious is that you can see her dissatisfaction with being in the water and wanting to break down and destroy everything around her.
To put it mildly, after Patrick’s bath we are still full of energy, and after bathing Dorothy we have enough.
A GOLDEN IDEA
One evening I had the idea that it would be more fun when they bathed together, and we would have more free time.
First, they weren’t having fun at all. On the contrary, they had a constant struggle between what was mine and what was yours, and they argued about nothing. Crying has become common because the soap has fallen into the eyes, ears, or mouth. Dorota in particular terrorized her brother in this way.
Second, we were more exhausted from bathing the children together than bathing them separately.
Taking care of mental health – mine and children, we will never return to the idea of bathing Patrick and Dora together.
